The man shot and killed on Corpus Christi's Westside on Saturday has been identified.
The Nueces County Medical Examiner identified the man as 22-year-old Tony Valdez Jr. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.
Around 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 100 block of Ahern Street for a shooting, senior officer Travis Pace said.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Valdez had been shot. Valdez died on the scene.
Two other shooting victims arrived at the hospital, Pace said.
Dylan Leija, 18, was later arrested.
Police believe Leija had a disturbance with Valdez and a weapon was discharged. Leija and Valdez knew each other and police believe the shooting was not a random act of violence, Pace said.
