SEATTLE - A man driving along Interstate 5 was shot at by someone in another car Tuesday morning near downtown Seattle, the Washington State Patrol reports.

The incident unfolded at about 6 a.m. as the victim was heading north on I-5 in a gold Chevrolet Impala.

The victim told troopers afterward that he saw a car approaching him from behind at a high rate of speed. He pulled over to let the other car pass, but it made the same lane change and stayed behind him.

The suspect's car continued to speed up and slow down behind the victim until it pulled alongside as they were approaching Seneca Street and fired three times toward the victim's car.

One of the shots hit the victim's car, but the driver himself was not hit.

The victim described the suspect's car as an early 2000s red Lexus sedan with damage to the driver's side fender and tinted windows that prevented him from being able to describe the suspect.

State Patrol detectives are seeking any witnesses to this incident and information on the suspect and vehicle.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Russ Haake at (425) 401-7717 or by email at Russ.Haake@wsp.wa.gov.
