Memphis man killed, two others wounded in Murfreesboro Pike shooting in Nashville

Metro police are investigating a Friday night shooting that left one man dead and two others wounded in southeast Nashville.

According to police the 6:20 p.m. shooting claimed the life of Johnathan Patterson, 23, and injured two other men, ages 23 and 22, in a parking lot of a business at 1084 Murfreesboro Pike.

All three people shot are from Memphis, police said.

 A preliminary investigation shows the men were in a Toyota Camry in the parking lot when a suspect in another car fired upon the vehicle.

Police said the driver of the Camry drove onto Murfreesboro Pike and crashed. Patterson died at the scene, police said.

The other two victims were transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where they are in stable condition.
