FBCSO detectives have charged 18-year-old Monserrat Carrillo-Castilla of Missouri City in connection with the murder A jury trial began this week for a young woman who is accused of shooting and killing a man in his Cinco Ranch home after he allegedly raped her friend.

Monserrat Carrillo-Castilla was charged with murder in May 2016 after 37-year-old Willie Honable, an aspiring rapper, was found dead on March 6 inside his home. The jury trial is expected to continue until the end of next week in the 268th District court under Judge Brady G. Elliott.

During the trial on Wednesday afternoon, Caroline Kim, a prosecutor for the case, questioned a  crime scene investigator from the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office who took photos at the crime scene and reviewed evidence.

The investigator discussed the evidence she reviewed, including photos taken at Honable's home after his murder.

In 2016, Honable showed rooms he leased out to then 18-year-old Carrillo-Castilla and her friend. He apparently offered  "to 'pimp' them out," according to a probable cause affidavit.

A few days after Honable's death, Carrillo-Castilla met with a friend to smoke marijuana and admitted to the friend that she shot the man, according to a statement from the friend.

She told the friend that Honable had pick up her and a friend and showed them his house in Cinco Ranch. After they left, the friend texted Carrillo-Castilla telling her the man had raped her.

Carrillo-Castilla returned to his home the same day and while the two were sitting on the couch, she asked Honable if he liked massages and then proceeded to give the man a massage.

She then shot him. Police traced a fired projectile left at the crime scene to a 9mm handgun which is believed to have been used in another aggravated assault from February 2016, according to the affidavit.

Carrillo-Castilla confessed the crime to the friend who was a suspect in the aggravated assault in February 2016.

When investigators arrived to the scene, they found Honable's body partially on the floor, a pocket inside out and his head on the couch in a pool of blood. Police also did not detect any signs of forced entry.
