New Year's shooting in Franklin leaves one injured: What we know

FRANKLIN (Somerset) – A New Brunswick man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting outside a Cedar Grove Lane hotel shortly after the beginning of the new year.

© ~File A Franklin Township resident was injured following a shooting on Franklin Boulevard on Wednesday night.

The victim, who was not named, underwent emergency surgery and is expected to survive, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.

About 2:31 a.m. Friday, Franklin Township police responded to a 911 call of a man with a gunshot wound outside the hotel which authorities did not name.

The man was taken to a nearby trauma center where he underwent surgery, authorities said.

Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting and no arrests have been made.
