One hospitalized after officer-involved shooting with SAPD on Southeast Side
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said one man was shot by officers on the Southeast Side on Tuesday.
A man was taken to a hospital after a shooting on Tuesday involving San Antonio police officers, Police Chief William McManus said.
The officers attempted to stop the man's vehicle on Southcross Ranch Road at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday because he had an active warrant stemming from a domestic violence incident from the day before, the chief said. The man is accused of shooting his girlfriend, who remains hospitalized as of Tuesday.

As officers tried to speak to the man, he fled on Southcross before stopping soon after. Footage from a KSAT news helicopter shows the man's silver sedan stopped on a street surrounded by homes as nearly a dozen San Antonio Police Department vehicles surround it.
The man allegedly pointed a gun at his own head before pointing it at the officers, McManus said. Police officers fired at the man multiple times, hitting him.
McManus said he had not watched the body camera footage and didn't know whether the man fired any shots. The chief also couldn't say what condition the man was in, but he noted that the man was talking while being transported to the hospital.
There was a female passenger in the vehicle who managed to flee before the shooting.
