PAULDING COUNTY, GA – Skeletal remains have been found at a rural Paulding County location off Mt. Olivet Road and officials are working to determine the identity of the remains that were found, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

The department is working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations after the remains were found at 6 p.m on Sept. 22 in the Mt. Olivet area of Paulding County. Detectives and GBI agents are working on leads and comparing local missing persons cases along with those from surrounding areas, officials said.

The skeletal remains were transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta by the Paulding County Coroner’s Office. Both the GBI’s Medical Examiner and Forensic Anthropologists will examine the remains in an attempt to identify the person, the sheriff’s office said.

If anyone has information regarding this case, or think this could be a missing person from another areas, they are asked to contact local authorities. Information can be relayed to detectives and GBI agents through the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division tip line at (770) 443-3047 or by using the free Paulding Sheriff mobile app.
