A Pittsburgh man has been charged with shooting his 22-year-old girlfriend during an argument at a party in South Park Sunday night.

Oshai Young, 23, is charged with aggravated assault, carrying a firearm without a license and other offenses, Allegheny County Police said Monday.

Police responded around 8:40 p.m. to a report of a shooting at the Diana Grove in the northern part of the park located in Bethel Park. First responders found the woman with a gunshot wound on her arm. She was transported to the hospital, where she was treated and later released.

Police said the victim was attending a party at the park shelter with her son and Mr. Young when the couple started arguing as the party was wrapping up. At some point, Mr. Young took out a pistol and fired several rounds, with one of the bullets striking his girlfriend in the arm, according to police.

Police said Mr. Young remained at the scene and was taken into custody.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning.
