Police investigate altercation that leaves one person dead near downtown Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a stabbing that left one person dead Wednesday evening.

The incident happened on November 23 at around 6:36 p.m. near the 700 block of North 11th Street in downtown Las Vegas.

According to police, officers responded to an apartment complex in the area following reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, an unresponsive male was located inside an apartment suffering from apparent stab wounds.

The man was transported to UMC, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation found that the victim and an unknown male were in a physical altercation. 

The victim was stabbed at some point during the fight, and the suspected fled the scene.
