Report: Man drowns at Pensacola Beach

A man drowned at Pensacola Beach Thursday afternoon, according to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office says deputies were dispatched around 2 p.m. to the 500 block of Ft. Pickens Rd.

The man was pulled out of the water by lifeguards, but he didn't survive.

An Escambia County spokeswoman adds Escambia County Fire Rescue was called to the scene.

The man was found unresponsive and was not transported. The scene was then turned over to the sheriff's office.

Yellow flags are flying on Pensacola Beach, according to the official county website.

The victim has not been identified.
