Sacramento City Unified expands COVID-19 testing clinic hours due to high demand
The Sacramento City Unified School District said more than 2,900 people took a COVID-19 test at a Monday clinic. Some families even showed up hours before it began to get in line. The clinic ran from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Serna Center on 47th Avenue near Stockton Boulevard, offering rapid antigen tests. Victoria Flores, director of the school district's student support & health services department, observed a line as early as 6 a.m. According to the district's COVID-19 dashboard online, more than 600 students have tested positive for COVID-19 so far this month since returning to class from winter break as the contagious omicron variant continues its path of infection.
