Seattle Police investigating several overnight shootings

SEATTLE – Seattle Police are investigating several shootings that occurred around Seattle Friday night and Saturday morning.

According to police, a 28-year-old man was shot and seriously injured following a fight in the 1200 block of South King Street.

Police responded to the shooting in the Chinatown/International District around 1:45 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police that the victim was reportedly shot following a fight that began at a nearby club.

In a separate incident, two people were arrested following a shooting in Pioneer Square.

Seattle Police say a nightclub employee called 911 to report that multiple people were involved in a fight outside the Trinity Nightclub, and someone had fired shots.

The people involved left the scene in car and police followed the car to 21st Avenue and Yesler Way where the driver crashed. Two of the vehicle’s occupants fled and two stayed in the vehicle.

Police say the two who fled were booked into jail, one for a firearm offense and one for a warrant. The other two who remained at the scene of the crash were interviewed by detectives and released.

Police say they recovered three firearms and multiple spent shell casings from the vehicle.

No injuries have been reported.

Bon Voyage Vintage in Pioneer Square has been open for about three years and employees are frustrated after the shootings over the weekend in parts of Seattle.

“The gun violence needs to stop,” said Walters.

“It’s unfortunate, because you can’t really live in fear, but you know more than ever you must keep your head on a swivel,” said Walters.

In a third incident downtown, a man was hit and injured by a stray bullet.

Police say a witness called 911 Friday around 11 p.m. to report shots fired near 2nd Ave and Pine St. Police in the area also reported hearing the shots.

Officers found a 32-year-old man hiding in the bus tunnel entrance in the 300 block of Pine St with a gunshot wound to the shoulder blade. The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Witnesses told police that two men were seen shooting at each other, and the victim was hit in their crossfire.

Police found 11 shell casing sand are working on a suspect description.

In a fourth incident, police are investigating an assault where a man and a woman were nearly struck by gunfire in West Seattle.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1900 block of Harbor Avenue Southwest around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

When police arrived, they found a 22-year-old man with a cut to his head. Witnesses told police that the man got into a fight with an unknown person when he was pistol-whipped. He attempted to run away, and the suspect reportedly fired several shots into the sky and then at the victim.

One round went through a van parked along the road, missing the woman asleep inside.

Police searched the area but were unable to find a suspect.

Police say the man was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
