One person has been killed and at least three others injured in a shooting at a high school basketball game in Tennessee.

An altercation between two adults during a Humboldt High School versus North Side High School resulted in a shots being fired.

No students were involved in the altercation, and none of the injured or deceased victims are students, Humboldt City Schools said in a statement.

"We know of one who was deceased, and another was flown to The Med in Memphis and was in surgery last I heard," Humboldt Police Chief Reynard Buchanan told The Jacskon Son.

"And as time passed, we were notified of others who showed up at nearby medical facilities who were apparently also injured, but none of those injuries were life-threatening."
