Deputies arrived and safely got a woman outside the home, but she advised an armed man was inside.

Soon after, the suspect appeared in the front door and pointed a rifle at a deputy, says the JCSO.

The sheriff's office says the deputy fired a shot, at which time the suspect ran out of the back of the house, leaving a blood trail.

Bessemer Police located the suspect at a grocery store on 4th Avenue.

The JCSO took Dai Qwane Rickey Burgin-Goodson (aka Rickey Burgin), 26, into custody and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Burgin-Goodson is being held on charges of Burglary 1st Degree, Rape 1st Degree and Assault 1st Degree.

There is no bond.
