Suspect bit by police K9 after pointing gun at someone outside Rio

A man suffered a minor dog bite from a police K9 after he allegedly pointed a gun at someone outside the Rio in Las Vegas on Monday, according to authorities.

Detectives responded around 4:05 a.m. to the incident reported at the casino resort in the 3700 block of W. Flamingo Road, said Lt. David Gordon with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

Patrol officers found the suspect hiding under a car in the parking lot, Gordon said, and he was taken into custody with the assistance of a K9.

"The suspect suffered a minor dog bite to his arm," Gordon said.

The victim did not report any injuries. Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to the incident, according to Gordon.
