Two children shot in drive-by outside Downtown Memphis church, police say

Two children were rushed to the hospital after bullets came flying out of a car in Downtown Memphis Monday evening, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

FOX13 discovered one of those children is 16 years old.

The shooting happened outside of Streets Ministries on Vance Avenue around 5:30 p.m., on Monday, October 3, MPD said. According to police, an older model white Nissan Maxima drove by and two men opened fire from the moving car, shooting at adults and children who were standing outside of the church.

Those two children who were shot were rushed to local hospitals in critical condition, according to police.
