UPDATE: Missing couple from Cherokee, Iowa located in Omaha

UPDATE 4/7/2021 9:00 A.M.:  The Omaha Police Department is releasing more details about a traffic accident involving Barbara and Kenneth Arndt from Cherokee.

The couple was reported missing on Tuesday and were located that night in Omaha after an accident. 

The Omaha Police department says they responded Tuesday, at 4:00 p.m., to a personal injury crash at S 171st and West Center Rd. 

The investigation indicated the couple's Tahoe was eastbound on W. Center approaching 171st st.  and struck a vehicle as it was stopped at the light waiting to turn south onto 171st. 

The vehicle was pushed forward into another car which was also stopped at the light. 

The Arndt's vehicle rolled onto its passenger side partially ejecting the Kenneth Arndt.  Police say he was pinned under the door of the vehicle. 

Omaha Fire Department extricated the couple and they were transported to Bergan Mercy Hospital. 

Police say Barbara Arndt suffered minor injuries and Kenneth suffered a broken leg. 

UPDATE 7:30 P.M.: Cherokee Police say they were notified that Barbara and Kenneth Arndt were located in Omaha after being involved in a traffic accident this afternoon.

They say details of the accident aren't available at this time, but that the Arndt family has been notified.

They want to thank everyone who's offered assistance during the search.

UPDATE 6:45 P.M.: Sioux City Police were notified by the Cherokee Police Department that Barbara and Kenneth Arndt were located in Omaha.

Cherokee Police have not released any further details.

The Cherokee Police are looking for help in locating two missing adults from Cherokee.

79-year-old Kenneth Arndt and 78-year old Barbara Arndt were last seen leaving the Menards parking lot in Sioux City on April 5th at 11:00 a.m.

The couple was last seen heading eastbound on Hwy 20 in a blue 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe with plate number DB 826.

The Cherokee Police say both have health issues.
