Watch: Indonesian Villages Covered In Ash After Mount Semeru Volcanic Eruption

At least 15 people have died and many left injured after Mount Semeru in Indonesia erupted on Dec. 4. Thick ash filled the sky leaving residents in darkness, and left over 5,000 people impacted by the natural disaster. Indonesia, an archipelago of more than 270 million people, is prone to earthquakes and volcanic activity because it sits along the Pacific “Ring of Fire,” a horseshoe-shaped series of fault lines.
