Authorities on Tuesday arrested a woman whose son is accused of bringing a gun to a Fort Worth middle school, police said.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m., school resource officers took a boy into custody after authorities learned that he had brought a gun to William Monnig Middle School, according to Fort Worth police.

A woman, whom police said is the mother of the student, “made a threat toward the school,” over the phone while school officials were notifying her about the incident involving the gun, police said. The woman’s name is Lisa Camille Ball, 34, according to Fort Worth police records.

Ball came to the middle school while the boy was being transported to a juvenile detention facility, police said. She was arrested around 3:30 p.m., records showed.

Ball is facing a terroristic threat charge and a resisting arrest charge. It is unclear if she has an attorney.

The Fort Worth Fire Department’s bomb unit is investigating the terroristic threat charge, the police department said.
