Woman shot in leg in Natomas, Sacramento police say

One person was injured in a shooting near an apartment complex in Sacramento's Natomas neighborhood on Friday night, authorities said.

The shooting happened at the Valencia Point Apartments, which is near the intersection of Natomas Central Drive and Del Paso Road.

Investigators believe that a fight led up to the shooting when a woman was shot in the leg, the Sacramento Police Department confirmed to KCRA 3.

A person started driving the victim to a hospital when they called 911, according to authorities. She is in a hospital and is expected to survive.

Authorities do not have a suspect description.

No other details were released.
