Gym hopes to inspire at-risk teens through fitness

A new training program is working to help teens stay off the street and get troubled teens back on track. For 17-year-old Scott Bacca-Canales, the program has literally turned his life around. He was arrested in February, was significantly overweight and struggling in school. His probation officer sent him to the Bloc Sports Performance Center. "Last winter, I didn’t plan on going to college," Bacca-Canales said. "I planned on dropping out. I was trying. I lost 103 pounds in six months. I’m wanting to focus more in school, I’m wanting to play sports now. It just changed my life." Jordan Bunch and assistant coach Will Porter tutor and train their athletes free of charge. They hope the program can break the cycle of violence in their neighborhood. "They're like my family, actually," Bacca-Canales said. "Coach Will, coach Jordan. I love them guys."
