How Trump’s ‘Barbie Dream House’ Became a Nightmare in 2022
Still adjusting to life after the White House
News has emerged that the former US leader has reportedly been hibernating at Mar-a-Lago for almost a month, suggesting Trump is retreating further into his insular Palm Beach bubble. It seems that the 45th president is still struggling to adjust to civilian life after the White House. According to a new exposé by The Washington Post, Trump has tried to emulate the "trappings of the presidency" at Mar-a-Lago. One of their sources added: “It’s like a Barbie Dream House miniature”. At some point in 2021, he reportedly even asked his aides if they could “summon a press pool”—like the media entourage that accompanied him during his presidency—to promote an event at his Florida home. He was told there was “no pool on call because he was no longer president”.
