According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Bucs linebacker Lavonte David is believed to have a high-ankle sprain and is set to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury today.

David left Sunday's game versus the Vikings on a cart during the fourth quarter and said the X-rays on his left ankle came back negative.

"It's minor, man," David said, according to Roy Cummings of Florida Football Insiders. "I feel like I can bounce back from it. The good thing is, [the X-rays] came back negative, so I'll be fine. Leave it up to God, and I'll be OK."

Following the game, David had his ankle taped as he left the locker room of U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota. Prior to his injury, he had seven tackles versus the Vikings and has contributed greatly to the defense's overall success throughout the past two games.

The Bucs' defense is unfortunately already pretty banged up right now and that was definitely on full display in yesterday's loss to the Vikings. Therefore, the team is hoping to hear good news when David undergoes an MRI today. Until then, the Buccaneers have their fingers crossed and are hoping it's nothing serious or anything that will keep him sidelined this season. In the meantime, we'll continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
