Final Freestanding NYC Pay Phone Removed to Make Way for Free WiFi Kiosk
Hope you have your phone charged and a strong signal, because there goes the last freestanding phone booth in New York City. There was a lot of nostalgia as workers hauled away the two telephones on Tuesday. It’s truly the end of an era. We’ll never tell loved ones to keep an extra quarter, “just in case they have to call home.” In many areas, the phone booths have been replaced by free wi-fi kiosks.
