Freed Former Marine Trevor Reed Describes Horrors of Imprisonment in Russia
Former Marine Trevor Reed spoke to CNN’s Jake Tapper about the horrors he endured during three years of captivity in Russia. "There was blood all over the walls there,” he said, “where prisoners had killed themselves, or killed other prisoners, or attempted to do that.” Reed said he would go for days without sleeping, fearing that people in his cell would try to kill him. While in prison, he contracted COVID and tuberculosis. Ironically, he says he survived by refusing to have hope.
