John Deere Strike: Over 10,000 Workers Walk Off The Job After Failed Contract Negotiations

More than 10,000 workers of the world’s largest farm equipment company are on strike following failed contract negotiations. According to the United Auto Workers union, the negotiations failed to meet John Deere employees’ “demands and needs.” The strike comes as the company is expected to make record sales this year. This is the first major strike at the Illinois-based company in 35 years.
