Michigan State’s new alternate uniforms resemble the Oregon Ducks.

The Spartans unveiled the jerseys on Saturday and, well, they have a lot of neon green. The Spartan logo on the helmet is neon green and that’s cool. It’s the “STATE” across the chest in the bright green and the bright green pants to go with the dark green jerseys that make the outfit over the top.

The uniforms pass for a set that Michigan State could have unveiled on April 1. But they are not a joke. The basketball team has worn neon green before, so it was apparently only a matter of time before the football team had neon green uniforms too. It’s a shame that these jerseys weren’t around when Michigan State and Oregon had a home-and-home in 2014 and 2015. It could have been a game like that Spiderman meme.

We don’t know just yet when Michigan State will wear the alternate jerseys, though given the jerseys are green, they’ll probably be worn at a home game. The biggest home game of the season for Michigan State in 2019 is against Penn State on Oct. 26. If the Spartans wore these jerseys in that game they’d be quite the contrast with Penn State’s all-white traditional road look.
