President Trump mocked Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden as a “sleepy man” who’s “not as smart” as U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders during an appearance on Boston Herald Radio Wednesday.

“Well, he’s a sleepy man,” Trump said of Biden, while discussing the 2020 field during a live call-in to “The Adriana Cohen Show.”

“But I just don’t know,” Trump said. “I mean, who knows really who can do the best? In many ways, I like him. He’s not as smart as Bernie, and he’s not as quick. But he’s got different views a little bit, I guess. But they’re all pretty heavy leaning left, including him.”

Biden, the former vice president who was leading polls long before he entered the race last week, raised $6.3 million in the first 24 hours of his campaign and secured an endorsement from the International Association of Fire Fighters on Monday.

“I know he got an endorsement from the firefighters’ union and people went wild,” Trump said. But he added, “Firefighters are going crazy, ’cause they’re for me. The firefighters are going to be voting for me, so are the police, so are the military. These are people all voting for me.”

Top union brass have “been with the Democrats for 50, 60 years, and they don’t care what the members think,” Trump said.

Earlier in the day, Trump retweeted posts that said firefighters would vote for him, not Biden.

“There was outrage by firefighters when a union, one of the bigger unions, endorsed ‘Sleepy Joe,’ so it was an interesting — it was an interesting thing,” Trump said.

Trump also blasted U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who called for Attorney General William Barr to resign. Trump said Warren should resign instead.

“Well, I think it’s ridiculous. Look, she defrauded the public for a long time and you know, she should really be the one to resign because she — hence the name ‘Pocahontas’ — she has gone through colleges and gotten jobs and gotten in all because she supposedly had Indian blood and then it turned out that wasn’t true,” Trump said. “She’s running for office, she’s not doing very well, and she shouldn’t be using that. That’s a terrible thing to even suggest.”
