Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, blamed what he described as a politicized Justice Department for a raid on his father's apartment and office as part of an investigation into his business dealings with Ukraine.

“I am disturbed by what happened here today, by the continued politicization of the Justice Department," Andrew Giuliani told reporters in New York. "This is disgusting. This is absolutely absurd, and it’s the continued politicization of the Justice Department that we have seen. It has to stop. If this can happen to the former president’s lawyer, this can happen to any American.”

Federal authorities earlier in the day executed a search warrant on Rudy Giuliani's Manhattan apartment and Park Avenue office as part of a larger investigation into the attorney's dealings in Ukraine. Investigators reportedly seized his electronic devices during the search.

Giuliani, who was a personal lawyer to former President Donald Trump, has been eyed by federal investigators as they look into whether he illegally lobbied the previous administration in 2019 on behalf of Ukrainian officials and oligarchs while searching for damaging information on Trump's political rivals, including President Joe Biden, then the leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Andrew Giuliani, who is considering a bid for New York governor, appeared to reference his father's possession of a copy of a laptop and hard drive believed to have belonged to Hunter Biden, who says he does not know if the hardware is his, that were seized by the FBI at a Delaware computer repair shop.

Andrew Giuliani said the laptop materials were the "only piece of incriminating evidence" in his father's home and office.

"Enough is enough," he said. "The only piece of evidence that they did not take up there today was the only piece of incriminating evidence that is in there, and it does not belong to my father. It belongs to the current president’s son.”

“All I will say is this: To all Americans out there, our Justice Department should be independent of politics. Enough is enough, ladies and gentlemen. We cannot stand for this anymore.”

Rudy Giuliani's lawyer, Robert Costello, in a statement, criticized Joe Biden's DOJ for ignoring evidence that incriminates his son. The statement added that the accusations made against him that prompted the warrant are "entirely untrue."

"The Biden Department of Justice has completely ignored clear evidence (which the FBI has had for over a year) in texts and emails on Hunter Biden’s hard drive” and “instead, the Justice Department decided it was a higher priority to serve (at dawn) search warrants for electronics at the home and law office of former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani," the statement read.

It continued: “The search warrants involve only one indication of an alleged incident of failure to register as a foreign agent. Mayor Giuliani has not only denied this allegation, but offered twice in the past two years through his attorney Bob Costello to Democrats that it is entirely untrue. Twice the offer was rejected by the SDNY."
