Webb Cason PC, a local law firm, held a drive-thru celebration for its new Joe Biden and Kamala Harris banner on Mesquite Street on Thursday evening.

Supporters stood in the rain as they held "Honk for Biden" signs on the corner of Mesquite and Starr Streets. Some helped attendees register to vote.

"We put the banner up just to show our colors and encourage people to get out and vote, and to hopefully vote for Biden and Harris — and other Democratic candidates," Charlie Webb said.

Victoria Rogers, a community organizer and member of the Island Democrats, said she and others wanted to show the community there are Biden and Harris supporters in Corpus Christi.

"A lot of us feel very threatened and bullied by what's been going on lately," Rogers said. "They've got the caravans going on at the beach all day long and what we wanted to do was something positive. I believe Joe Biden is the person who will lead us to a much better place and I can't wait to have a female vice president."

Supporters from Gregory and Victoria showed up to the event to celebrate the new banner and hand out free signs.

"We have got to stop stealing each other's signs," Rogers added. "That's just useless for both sides."
