Biden to Americans: 'get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do'

President Joe Biden issued a statement to Americans who may be on the fence about getting the COVID-19 vaccine Thursday following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's update to it's mask guidance as COVID-19 vaccinations continue throughout the country.

Biden tweeted a brief message, stating:

"The rule is now simple: get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do.

The choice is yours."

The CDC Thursday said those who have been fully vaccinated can go without wearing a mask in many indoor settings.

Two weeks ago the health agency said wearing masks outdoors was no longer necessary for those who were fully vaccinated.
