The United States' top infectious disease expert said he felt he had to publicly contradict former President Donald Trump on matters related to the COVID-19 pandemic to preserve his "integrity." Dr. Anthony Fauci said his contradiction of the president made him a "public enemy" to "the very far-right Trump people."
