Fox News host Harris Faulkner abruptly cut off top White House aide Kellyanne Conway as she was about to attack New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Conway, who was speaking about the White House's response to the coronavirus pandemic, pivoted to attack the mayor for not shutting down the city soon enough to halt the spread of the virus.

“I do think it’s very disappointing that the mayor of New York City himself was riding the subway on March 5 and telling people to go out on the town on March 2,” she argued, when Faulkner interrupted her to say, “Kellyanne, I’m going to stop you on the politics.”

“It’s not politics,” Conway argued. “It’s that we have a very dire situation in New York City. That is not politics. I think it was politics to say go out on the town.”

“We do have a dire situation,” Faulkner interrupted again.

Conway, in an interview on the network the day before, attacked de Blasio in the same manner. She accused the mayor of downplaying the pandemic earlier this month, while insisting that President Trump had taken it seriously all along.

As of Thursday afternoon, more than 500,000 people have been diagnosed with the virus, which has led to nearly 23,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, more than 120,000 people who contracted the virus have since recovered.
