Hakeem Jeffries Will 'Push Back' On Extremism As Next House Democrat Leader
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries was voted to succeed Speaker Nancy Pelosi as House Democratic Leader in January, making him the first Black person to lead one of the two major parties in either chamber of Congress. He issued a warning to his Republican colleagues Wednesday: "We look forward to finding opportunities to partner with the other side of the aisle ... But we will also push back against extremism whenever necessary."
