Indonesia Passes Legislation Criminalizing Adultery
Indonesia has passed legislation to outlaw sex outside marriage, sex before marriage, and living together without being married. Parliament overhauled the criminal code with support from all parties. Indonesia is the world’s most populous country to make adultery illegal. Sex outside marriage will be punishable by a year in jail and cohabitation by 6 months.
