Raphael Warnock Wins Georgia Senate Runoff Election Against Herschel Walker
Incumbent Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock is projected to have defeated Republican Herschel Walker in Georgia's U.S. Senate runoff election. The runoff came after no candidate received more than 50% of the vote in November's midterm elections. Warnock is the state’s first Black senator who was originally elected in 2021 in a special election to replace retired GOP Sen. Johnny Isakson. Warnock has now been chosen to serve a full six-year term in the Senate.
