'They've got a barbershop': House Dem. schools Marjorie Taylor Greene on the reality of U.S. jail conditions
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), in a recent interview, gave Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) a reality check regarding jail conditions across the country, following the House members' visit to a D.C. jail holding Jan. 6 defendants.
@Acyn shared a clip of Crockett's MSNBC appearance, writing, "Crockett on Jan 6 Defendant Conditions: This is not the norm. Even in the women's area, art therapy, yoga, acupuncture. These are things that we can't even find for my people that aren't incarcerated.. There are two types of tablets. They've got a barbershop."
Following their tour of the jail, Greene tweeted, "From our visit at the DC Jail yesterday, Democrat Oversight Committee Members Jasmine Crockett and Robert Garcia (1st time visitors to the DC Jail) sang the Jails praises. Shame on them for not knowing the long history of outrage in Washington DC about the DC Jail conditions and treatment OR they didn’t do their homework to know that the DC Jail had inmates/defendants clean, scrub, and paint the week before we got there so conditions would look good for our visit."

Former federal prosecutor and attorney Ron Filipkowski posted a screenshot of Greene's tweet, writing, "Actually, Rep. Crockett is a former Public Defender and civil rights attorney who has been a prison reform advocate for many years, unlike Marge. What she said she observed was the J6 inmates are being treated much better than the vast majority of inmates around the country."
During her interview, Crockett emphasized, "I don't know what world Marjorie Taylor Greene, [Rep. Lauren] Boebert, and the rest of them are living in."
