This Italian Artist Just Plowed A French Poet’s Face Into A Field With A Spin Amid COVID-19

Italian artist Dario Gambarin plowed the face of French poet Charles Baudelaire into a 27,000 sq m field ahead of the 200th anniversary of Baudelaire’s birth in April. Gambarin entitled his work “Virus du mal” - “evil virus” - referencing the COVID-19 pandemic, which is a play on Baudelaire’s famous volume "Les Fleurs du mal." Gambarin created his latest portrait using a tractor, plow and harrow without any drawings or markings on the ground to guide him.
