Andrew Weissmann, a top prosecutor in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation, has signed a book deal with publishing giant Random House, according to The New York Times and CNN.

The reports of Weissmann's book deal come more than two months after the redacted version of the Mueller report was made available to the public in April.

With the deal, Weissmann would be the first special counsel team member to provide a behind-the-scenes account of the nearly two-year investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The Hill has reached out to Random House for comment.

The Mueller report itself became a New York Times No. 1 best-seller in early May.

Several books on the Trump administration have become top sellers, including former FBI Director James Comey's "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership," Bob Woodward's "Fear: Trump in the White House," and Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," which all easily eclipsed 1 million copies sold.
