What Is HR8? Gun Bill Focused On Background Checks Explained
HR8 is the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021, a bill that passed the U.S. House but has not yet been voted on in the Senate. The bill was introduced in 2019 with the goal of expanding background checks to require them for all gun sales. Calls to pass HR8 have been renewed after a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that killed at least 19 children and 2 adults.
