Why Trump May Be Unable to Run in 2024 According To His Former Attorney
Much of the talk over the past few months was about whether former president Donald Trump would run for US president in 2024 again.
These questions were put to bed by Trump when he announced last month that he would indeed be running for president in 2024 again.
The announcement was followed by several scandals surrounding Trump.

Trump's Prior Scandals
Although Trump is no stranger to scandals and obstacles, the latest ones come at a bad time as Trump seeks to garner support for a second presidential bid. Last week, Trump’s company – The Trump Organization, was found guilty of 17 counts of tax fraud.
Although Trump himself was not charged in the case, it certainly does his 2024 presidential bid no good.
Then, just days later – Trump’s lawyers turned in two more confidential documents found at a storage facility near Trump’s luxurious Mar-a-Lago resort.
These documents are reportedly part of the confidential documents Trump removed when he vacated the Oval Office in January 2021.
The Department of Justice is investigating the former president for removing these documents from the White House and for obstruction of justice in delaying returning the documents to the White House.

Cohen's Recent Comments
Speaking to CNN, Michael Cohen – a former lawyer of Trump, said he could not see how Trump is going to be able to run amidst all the controversy and scandals surrounding the former president.
He said, "I don't believe yet that I'm wrong. In fact, all he's done is file a single piece of paper making an announcement that he's intending, that he's running for the presidency of the United States as a Republican and he's looking for the nomination."
Cohen, who served a year in prison for various counts of fraud, feels that the presidential run is an attempt to deflect the attention away from his legal battles, "at the end of the day, I don't believe he's going to run, and I don't believe he's going to be able to run with all the litigation and the sedition that he's committed against this country. I don't believe he's going to be able to run."
He ended by saying that the Mar-a-Lago document scandal could prove the most telling of all and could ultimately throw the former president’s 2024 campaign off course, "I believe that all of the litigation currently plaguing the former president, I believe this one with the Justice Department, the one regarding the Mar-a-Lago raid, is by far the most serious.”
"I also believe it's the easiest for the DOJ to prove. Over a year and a half ago, they requested the documents returned; he tried to say, 'no, we don't have any. Turns out he had, then they give some back, they turn around and get a Justice to sign off on a warrant they executed, they get more documents back."
