Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates: Get to know Daniel Kelly, Janet Protasiewicz
Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Janet Protasiewicz and Former Justice Daniel Kelly will face off in the April 4 race for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Kelly, the Republican-backed candidate, and Protasiewicz, the Democratic-backed candidate, advanced out of February’s primary election to the Spring General Election for a 10-year term on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

The Spring General Election will determine the ideological balance of Wisconsin’s Supreme Court, where conservatives have had control since 2008. A number of critical issues could face the court in the coming years, including abortion access, voting rights and electoral maps. The race is the most expensive judicial election in United States’ history.
