Best iPad Air deals

As the name suggests, the iPad Air is built for life on the move. It's the slimmest and lightest full-size Apple tablet, and, in our view, is Apple's best all-round iPad.

The 2020-released model is a What Hi-Fi? Awards 2021 winner. We were impressed with its great picture and sound, in addition to its attractive design and excellent user experience.

The new, fifth generation iPad Air (2021) looks very much like its predecessor but has a far faster M1 processor at its core. It also supports 5G (cellular models) and has boasts a 12MP front camera with Center Stage support.

Best iPad mini deals

The iPad Air is great for getting out and about, but if you're always on the move you might prefer the iPad Mini. The small screen is less suited to movie and games, but it's ideal for dipping into e-books or casual watching.

The 2019 iPad mini's 7.9-inch screen might not suit cinematic epics, but for TV shows and YouTube, it's perfect. It also has the highest pixel density of any iPad. So while there's not a lot of screen, what you do get looks great.

Want the latest model? The 2021 version features an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, the same A15 Bionic chip as the iPhone 13, optional 5G, USB‑C charging and support for Apple Pencil (2nd gen).

Best iPad Pro deals

The iPad Pro is the biggest and most powerful tablet Apple makes. It's aimed squarely at creative professionals – those pointy-glasses-wearing content creators who illustrate, design, animate and produce. And it's perfectly suited to the task.

The latest range, launched in late 2021, includes 11-inch and 12.9-inch screen sizes. In our review of the Award-winning Apple iPad Pro 12.9, we called its mini LED-lit display "the pinnacle of portable cinema".

Then there's the 2020 model, which is also available with 11-inch or 12.9-inch edge-to-edge Liquid Retina (OLED) displays with 120Hz Pro Motion technology. Both the 2021 and 2020 models should prove notably smoother than the version launched in 2017.

Finally, there's a 2017 model with a 10.5in screen. It remains a good buy, especially if you can grab one at a big discount. Despite its age, it features an OLED panel, so you get stunning contrast ratio.

Best iPad deals

The standard iPad is now in its ninth generation – and it just gets better and better.

Once the only member of the iPad range, the standard iPad is now considered the entry-level model, with a more modest price tag than its siblings. That also means it's less well-specced - it has less storage than the rest of the family, less power, and not as thin as the iPad Air, with a slightly smaller screen.

The latest entry-level iPad 9 features a 10.2-inch display and a bunch of improvements, including a faster A13 Bionic chipset, a new front-facing camera and a True Tone display for the very first time. It runs the same iOS as Apple's other tablets, giving it market-leading user-friendliness.

If you're on a tight budget, this is the tablet for you. We've yet to review the 2021-released iPad 9, but we were mightily impressed with the 2020 iPad (8th Gen), which picked up a What Hi-Fi Award.
