Black Friday itself is over, but many iPad deals are still up and running, which is why we're suggesting you visit our Cyber Monday iPad deal live blog where we're posting all the discounts we find when we find them.

We've already seen some of the cheapest prices all year on certain models thanks to Black Friday and a few have even sold out. The 2021 iPad 10.2-inch and iPad Pro 11-inch models are particularly popular right now so we'd heavily advocate picking one up sooner rather than later if you're interested.

And, speaking of which, we've rounded up all of today's best Black Friday deals right down below alongside plenty of well-considered buying advice to make sure you get the right tablet for your needs.

As things are developing quite quickly, we highly recommend bookmarking this page and checking in regularly if you don't want to miss out on any of the Black Friday iPad deals this year. And if you don't get your shopping done this weekend, take a look at our Cyber Monday iPad deals page on Monday.

That's a $100 discount and the lowest price we've seen for the 2021 tablet. The Apple iPad Pro delivers laptop-like power and speed thanks to Apple's M1 chip. This Black Friday deal has been flashing in and out of stock so we'd snag today's discount before it's too late.

With 128GB of storage this comes with a discount of $70, but we've spotted even bigger discounts on the larger storage variants. These are much more expensive than the models above, but if you're after a top-end model this could be perfect for you.

Apple iPad Pro 11 2021 (128GB, Wi-Fi): $799 $749.99 at Amazon Save $50 - It's not a huge price cut, but this discount from Amazon is the cheapest price around for the iPad Pro 11. Technically it's sold out, but Amazon claims more stock will be available soon, so we'd definitely pick this one up sooner rather than later if you're interested. If you're looking for a powerful tablet for design work you won't beat this model - although some would say it's overkill for the majority of casual applications.

iPad Air 2020 (64GB, Wi-Fi + cellular): $729 $689 at Amazon Save $40 - You can save a touch more, if you opt for the variant with cellular connectivity. Apple US Black Friday Shopping Event

Free Gift Card - Apple's four-day Black Friday and Cyber Monday Shopping Event runs from November 26 through November 29, and gives you the chance to bag a $50 card when you buy either an Apple Watch SE or Series 3. While not a huge price cut, this is a good option if you're thinking about picking up some accessories. The bad news? This doesn't apply to the Apple Watch 7, sorry folks.

Apple iPad mini (2021): $499 at Amazon All 2021 iPad mini colors are back in stock at Amazon this week - although there's no price cut on the menu just yet. If you're looking to pick up the latest (and smallest) device in the range, this is currently the cheapest price on the market. While diminutive, this one's a great choice if you're wanting something with a bit more power than the usual 10.2 iPad.

Apple iPad 10.2 (64GB): $329 at Adorama The standard latest 10.2 iPad is selling like hotcakes right now across the board. In fact, it's out of stock at nearly every major online retailer in the US. We're not expecting any Black Friday iPad deals on this model at this rate, but we can tell you that Adorama still has a few if you're interested. Both colors are in stock right now on the more popular 64GB model, so this is your best bet if you're dead-set on getting this cheaper model.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2021 (128GB, Wi-Fi): £999 £929 at Amazon Save £70 - Here's a great Black Friday iPad deal on the latest 2021 iPad Pro 12.9, all things considered. It might not seem like a wild discount, but it's actually the cheapest price yet and really quite good considering this device is only a few months old as of writing. With a fantastic display and the incredible level of power the latest M1 chip affords, this one's an easy recommendation if you're looking for something truly premium.

You can now save on the 128GB model (it previously wasn't on sale) or one of the higher storage variants below. It's a small saving but it's worth it if you're looking for an absolute top-end model with the ability to go online anywhere.

Apple iPad Pro 11 2021 (128GB, Wi-Fi): £749 £699 at Currys Save £50 - It's not a huge price cut, but this discount from Currys is the cheapest price around for the iPad Pro 11 with 128GB of storage.  This tablet should offer you around a 10-hour battery life, and we particularly liked the amount of power the M1 chipset. 256GB: £849 £799 at Currys 512GB: £1,049 £999 at Currys 1TB: £1,399 £1,340.10 at Amazon 2TB: £1,749 £1,689.97 at Amazon

Apple iPad Pro 11 2021 (2TB, Wi-Fi + cellular): £1,899 £1,506.36 at Amazon Save £393 - This is an incredible saving, but we have previously seen it even lower with over £500 off. Only consider this if you need an absolute ton of space on your iPad. This variant comes with mobile connectivity and 2TB of storage, so that's why it's expensive, but this is a big discount if it's the one you're looking for.

© Provided by TechRadar

iPad Air 2020 (64GB, Wi-Fi + cellular): £709 £599 at Amazon Save £110 - If you'd like access to the internet from anywhere on your iPad Air 4, this is the deal to go for right now with a discount of £110. We may see more when Black Friday properly arrives, but this is still a good saving on a top variant of the iPad Air 2020.

© Provided by TechRadar

iPad Air 2020 (256GB, Wi-Fi): £729 £689.97 at Amazon Save £39.03 - While almost £40 off a year-old tablet isn't anything huge to write home about, this is still the best price right now for the 256GB iPad Air 4. We gave this tablet a 4.5 star review citing its power, screen and the adventurous color choices as some of the main reasons to buy.

© Provided by TechRadar

iPad mini 2021 (64GB, Wi-Fi): £479 £459 at Amazon Save £20 - This is the best deal for the iPad mini right now and people have obviously taken to it as the slate is temporarily out of stock, but Amazon will still let you place an order, you just might have to wait a bit longer to get it.

Apple Pencil 1: £89 £74 at John Lewis

Save £15 - The Apple Pencil is now properly discounted in the UK with a saving of £15 at John Lewis right now. This is for the original Apple Pencil, so make sure it's compatible with your iPad and you'll want to grab this before Cyber Monday ends.

Things are really starting to heat up with this year's Black Friday iPad deals. Earlier this week in the US, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart all started excellent Black Friday pre-sales already and many more retailers are no doubt set to follow. Retailers in the UK are holding their cards closer to their chests so far, but now that Black Friday is here, expect the price cuts to follow.

Should you buy an iPad before Black Friday?

Tough call, but we say yes if you spot a price cut to your liking. Popular items like iPads are always in danger of selling out over Black Friday and doubly so this year. For context, the new 2021 iPad Pro sold out in hours when Amazon recently discounted it by $100 in early November - a price that was at the time the lowest yet from the retailer.

The standard 2021 iPad 10.2 is also on backorder right now at Apple US until an eye-watering December 6th at the earliest - a date after Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year. In short, it's a good idea to get that order in sooner rather than later if you're interested in getting your device this side of 2022.

UP NEXT
UP NEXT

Here's a quick and dirty price guide for the current iPad range, as well as the record low prices so far and what we judge to be their 'popularity' based on how often we've seen these devices sell out at leading retailers. It's a pretty unscientific measure but we're using it as an indicator for determining how likely a model is to sell out either on or before Black Friday.

One quick caveat. In general, UK retailers tend to be a little better stocked when it comes to iPad deals right now, so your mileage could vary a bit in this region. UK retailers have also been a little slower off the mark in regards to offering up early Black Friday sales, so it could be the best prices are still yet to come.

Black Friday iPad Deals: FAQ

When will the best Black Friday iPad deals begin in 2021?

November 26th is the official kick-off date for this year's Black Friday iPad deals but we've already seen a ton of great price cuts. Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon have all already started their 'Holiday deals' season and that's included some small discounts on iPads.

The new iPad Pro in particular was at its lowest price yet at Amazon US recently, and the iPad Air 4 has also received a healthy discount. The burning question here is - are the current crop of early Black Friday deals going to be the best prices this year, or will they get better? In our eyes, it depends on stock levels. We've seen several models sell out at some retailers already so it could be they're actually all gone by Black Friday.

Which retailers will have the best Black Friday iPad deals?

Top US retailers

Amazon

: regularly features the best deals across multiple iPad models

B&H Photo: an alternative to the big names with regular deals

Best Buy: often price matches other retailers on top tech

Walmart: best-ever prices so far on the latest 2021 iPads

Top UK retailers

Amazon:

usually has the biggest discounts over Black Friday on tech Argos: good offers with next day delivery on click and collect options Currys: price matches common deals with in-store pickup available

John Lewis: often includes extended warranties on electrical items

Once you know which model you're after, it's time to head to the right retailer come the big day. Walmart, Amazon and Best Buy are well known for their Black Friday iPad deals. Walmart and Amazon, in particular, offered up some stunning bargains last year. If you're shopping for the entry-level 10.2-inch release, you'll want to head here first.

Currys, Amazon and John Lewis often compete for the best iPad deals over Black Friday if you're shopping in the UK. We'd head there as your first port of call, but make sure you don't sleep on Argos, Very, or lesser-known tech retailers such as Box or Laptops Direct either.

Black Friday iPad deals: top tips

When it comes to finding the best Black Friday iPad deal, we've got a few top tips to follow to ensure you get the right product for the right price. Read through these in the run-up to the sales so you're ready to go as soon as that first offer arrives.

1. Research, research, research Black Friday iPad deals are always popular - every year, in fact. With hot ticket items over the Holiday sales period it always pays to know exactly what you want and what you're looking for before you go in. That means researching which model's best for your needs (check out our handy guide just below), knowing generally how much it sells for at leading retailers, and also knowing what your alternative options are. By doing a little bit of research you'll be able to spot the good Black Friday iPad deals from the bad, as well as save precious time on the day.

2. Consider buying early This year we're seeing a ton of empty shelves at leading retailers. It's not just iPads either, according to a report by Adobe the number of out-of-stock items is up a whopping 172% versus pre-pandemic levels - a statistic that doesn't bode well for the shopping season this November. If you spot a discount on a model you want, we'd advocate potentially buying early, even if it's not the lowest price we've ever seen on that model.

3. Be prepared for alternatives Following on from our previous advice, we'd recommend considering alternatives if you do find your iPad of choice sold out over Black Friday. For example, that iPad 10.2 might be out of stock but perhaps you can make that budget stretch to a mid-range iPad Air 4. Even better still are the number of Black Friday tablet deals that we could see on other brands like Samsung, Amazon, and Lenovo. Sure, they aren't Apple but they'll definitely be a lot more available this year.

Which iPad is best for me?

  • Apple iPad 10.2: a great all-rounder for those on a budget
  • Apple iPad Air: a mid-range, super-slim premium tablet
  • Apple iPad Pro: incredibly powerful with lush screens, but pricey
  • Apple iPad mini: small 8-inch screen, more powerful than the 10.2

The latest 2021 Apple iPad 10.2 is a great place to start if you're looking to get that iOS tablet experience without breaking the bank. It doesn't have the brightest screen, the slimmest build, or the most powerful processor, but it's exceptional value and more than enough for most people.

For something a bit more premium, consider the new Apple iPad Air and iPad mini. Both these tablets feature very powerful chips, a lovely squared-off design (very similar to the iPhone 13), and better screens than the standard 10.2 iPad. In short, they're your mid-range picks - for those who want something a bit special but don't quite want to fork out the huge amounts for the iPad Pro range.

Speaking of which, if you'll only settle for the best of the best, the latest 2021 iPad Pro 11 and 12.9-inch tablets offer pretty much the most powerful tablets on the market. They not only look fantastic with their XDR retina displays (amazing for design work and media), but the M1 chip inside affords them near-MacBook levels of power.

Which iPad will have the best deals over Black Friday 2021?

We're recommending you keep your eyes on the iPad Air 4 and the iPad Pro this year. The former is looking likely to drop to a price that might only be $100 / £100 more than a 10.2-inch 2021 device, while the latter (if following the same pattern as 2020) looks set to get some of the best discounts yet.

If you're drawn towards the newer devices, the good news and that we're fully expecting discounts on both the latest iPad 10.2 and iPad Mini versions. Both of these devices were given small price cuts in the pre-order phase, so retailers should at least repeat these for Black Friday.

More specifically, then, look for at least $30 off the iPad 10.2 as this was the reduction at Walmart before the device launched. For the iPad Mini, the key price to keep in mind is $459. It was given this $39 discount at Amazon prior to launch. There was nothing similar available in the UK but there should still be an offer or two to be found come November.

You'll find more information on the prospects of 2021's Black Friday iPad deals on each model just below.

Last year's best iPad Black Friday deals

One of the best ways to predict what will happen in 2021 is to look back at last year's best iPad Black Friday deals. Here's what we saw across both the US and the UK.

Some of the highlights included record low prices on the entry-level 10.2-inch iPad, which was especially impressive considering Apple's cheapest device was merely weeks old. Something similar on the new iPad this year, maybe?

2020 Apple iPad 10.2-inch - 32GB: $329.99

$279.99 at Best Buy

This is the best price we've ever seen on last year's standard iPad, and with a $50 discount this was the cheapest we saw it last Black Friday. This deal ran out extremely quickly, while Amazon was still offering a $299 sales price though.

2020 iPad Air - 64GB: $599

$569.99 at Amazon

Stock moved fast on these discounts on the iPad Air 4, which were particularly early considering this was such a new release at the time. This was an excellent discount on the latest iPad to hit the market - if you could grab it in time - but we've since seen it drop down to $559.

2019 iPad Air - 256GB: $649.99

$549.99 at Best Buy

There were also bigger configurations on sale at Amazon too.

Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro 12.9-inch: $349

$329 at Amazon

It was only $20 off, but the Magic Keyboard is a premium accessory for the iPad Pro - it costs more than the standard 2020 iPad after all. This was the first time we've seen that $349 price waver (though we've since seen more price drops) so if you were looking to use your tablet as a laptop it was worth checking out.

2020 iPad Pro 12.9-inch - 128GB: £969

Apple Smart Keyboard for 12.9-inch iPad Pro: £199

£187.49 at Amazon

There wasn't a massive discount on this Apple Smart Keyboard, but it was the first time we'd seen the new iPad Pro accessory taking a price cut. It's rare to find offers on these premium peripherals as well, so if you were looking to use your iPad for writing it was worth grabbing this while you could save some change.

That should cover everything you need to know right now. As more information about this year's Black Friday iPad deals comes to light we'll be sure to return to update this page.
