Fully vaccinated Greensboro woman gets COVID-19

Breakthrough cases have been rare, but they do happen. One Triad woman said if anything, she's glad she got the vaccine, so her symptoms weren't worse. Marybeth Bedrosian, of Greensboro, got the Pfizer vaccine series back in February. After recently spending time around three unvaccinated people, she noticed possible COVID-19 symptoms. "When I started to feel bad, it wasn’t horrible. It almost seemed like an allergy kind of a thing. A tickle in my throat, some sneezing. But then as my cold symptoms got worse, I thought, maybe I just go ahead and just give myself peace of mind, and go get tested." She took a test - and got a positive result for COVID-19. Bedrosian said she's convinced that if she hadn't already had the vaccine, her symptoms could have been much worse. She said if there's anything her breakthrough case proved, it's that vaccines work. "It is definitely, definitely worth it to get the vaccine...The whole point of the vaccine is to keep people from very serious symptoms and hospitalization, and that's exactly what it did for me," Bedrosian said.
