Hanes Park shootout: Mom of 3 describes chaotic scene

Carly Weisthal and her three children had just arrived at tennis lessons at Hanes Park on Monday when she heard gunfire nearby. "I heard pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, and I looked around, and thought, is that a gunshot? I don't know," she explained. "Then I heard a lot more gunshots, and then it was chaos." It turned out to be a shootout between police and William Scott. Police chased him into the park after they said he shot up a Winston-Salem Police substation. The investigation took an even darker turn when officers found Scott's mother and grandmother dead inside their homes. Detectives said Scott killed the women before the shootout. Scott is in jail with no bond facing two murder charges in the deaths of his mother and grandmother. He's also charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
