Concentric Power teamed up with Tasteful Selections to bring Kern County its first-ever microgrid.

The groundbreaking happened out in Arvin Wednesday.

The goal is to build microgrids that will help Tasteful Selections potato farm store and use more sustainable energy.

The new technology will also help Tasteful Selections save money and their day-to-day operations will not be interrupted from power shut offs or outages.

Tasteful Selections Grower and CEO Robert Bender says, "This is critical for our company. Quality is everything and our potatoes that we send out to all our customers. The risk we have when we lose power is that our quality denigrate fast. If we lose power for three or four hours, it could mean thousands or millions in quality product for us."

Concentric power's CEO shares with us that expect construction and office expansion in the Arvin area to bring in over 50 new jobs.
