The Resident Evil 4 remake is finally here, and longtime fans and newcomers alike are enjoying this top-down reimagination of a survival horror classic that revolutionized the action game genre. There is plenty to do in RE4, including a number of side-quests to complete, collectibles to find, and mind-boggling puzzles to solve. Among the game's puzzles are its combination lock and Electronic Lock Terminals.
Players will encounter one combination lock and three Electronic Lock Terminals to solve during their playthrough of Resident Evil 4. Since these lock puzzles can impede progress through the game, it's important to know how to solve them. Here is a guide on where to find them, how to solve them, and what they unlock.

How to Unlock the Combination Lock in the Village Chief's Manor
Players will encounter your first lock puzzle of the Resident Evil 4 remake during Chapter 1 in the Village Chief's Manor south of the Village Square. You'll need to get into a room on the second floor of the manor to progress the story. The wardrobe contains a Crystal Marble that is used to unlock it, so you won't be able to continue beyond this point without first solving it. To solve the combination lock, you'll need to rotate each of the three dials to display the correct image. Thankfully, the solution to the puzzle can be found upstairs.
On the second floor, you'll find an open book on a table that reads, "In great veneration of their master, the people offered up their most prized possessions. The old farmer, his finest crop. The slight swineherd, his stoutest pig. The beggarly grandam, her own beloved babe. The master saw these gifts and was pleased."
The three words you'll need to pay attention to here are "crop," "pig," and "babe," as these indicate the images you'll need to reveal on the combination lock. Head back downstairs to the wardrobe and rotate the dials so they reveal crops on the first dial, a pig on the second, and a baby on the third. The lock will release, and you'll be able to retrieve the Crystal Marble inside.

How to Solve the Three Electronic Lock Terminals on the Island
There are three Electronic Lock Terminals in Resident Evil 4, two of which inhibit progression through the main narrative. To solve them, you'll need to reroute the power so that it charges the nodes scattered around the terminal screen, with the total number of nodes displayed in the top right corner. Note that moving the slider at the bottom of the terminal will change which ring you are adjusting, and moving it all the way to the right will restore power to the system, so long as each node is charged.
Dissection Electronic Lock Terminal Solution
The first Electronic Lock Terminal you'll come across is outside the Dissection room in Chapter 13. As solving this lock puzzle is essential to unlock the Dissection room and progress through Resident Evil 4's story, it's impossible to miss. To solve it, begin by rotating the outermost ring three times. Then, rotate the middle ring twice. Finally, move the slider all the way to the right, lock it in, and power will be restored to the system, unlocking the door to the Dissection room in the process.

Freezer Electronic Lock Terminal Solution
The next Electronic Lock Terminal you'll encounter is also in Chapter 13 outside the freezer. Solving this terminal is optional but more than worth it, as you'll be granted access to the freezer containing the LE 5 submachine gun.
To solve the freezer's Electronic Lock Terminal, rotate the outer ring twice, then rotate the next ring twice. Thirdly, rotate the next ring three times. Finally, rotate the innermost ring three times. To attempt to solve the puzzle, move the slider all the way to the right and confirm it. If you've done it correctly, all the nodes should light up, restoring power to the system and unlocking the door to the Freezer. Be sure and grab the LE 5 SMG inside before you leave the area.
Waste Disposal Electronic Lock Terminal Solution
You'll encounter the last Electronic Lock Terminal during Chapter 14, just outside the Waste Disposal area. Like the Dissection terminal, unlocking the Waste Disposal terminal is necessary to progress the story, so you won't miss it. Starting with the outermost ring and working your way in, rotate the first three rings three times. Lastly, rotate the innermost ring twice, then move the slider all the way to the right and lock it in. The door should unlock, and you'll be able to progress through the game's story.
