The 31 Best Deals From Target’s Prime Day Rival Sale

Wired logo Wired 6/23/2021 Medea Giordano, Gear Team

The emphasis might be on Amazon Prime Day this week—the two-day sale event ends June 22—but other stores have been promoting their own deals in an effort to compete. Walmart is having a sale that ends on June 23, and Target's Deal Days Sale began on June 20 and runs through June 22. We're focusing on the latter here. These are our favorite Target deals.

Note: We regularly update articles and strike through items that sell out or rise in price as of publishing, and we mark discounts based on recent product pricing or average price, not MSRP. Be sure to check discounts for yourself. Our picks come from research and our extensive experience reviewing products.

Our final update: Prime Day has ended, but many of Target's deals now say they end on Saturday, June 26. If you're sale hunting, we've collected the best Prime Day deals still available (as of June 23). As always, we hope we helped you sift through the sales madness and find great products. Check our Buying Guides for the latest recommendations.

Home and Kitchen Deals

For more of our favorite home and kitchen products, see our guides to the Best Robot Vacuums, Best Dyson Vacuums, Best Latte and Cappuccino Machines, and many more coffee reviews.

graphical user interface: Ecovacs Deebot N79 © EcoVacs Ecovacs Deebot N79

Ecovacs Deebot N79W Robot Vacuum for $180 ($100 off)

Once you start having a robot clean your floors, you'll know true luxury. We have a bunch of recommendations, but they generally cost much more than this one. We have not reviewed this specific model, but we have reviewed similar ones. The last few Ecovacs we’ve tried had some navigational problems, but if you have no weird ledges in your house they should be fine. It’s rare to find a reliable robot vac for under $200.

Keurig K-Mini Limited Edition for $60 ($40 off)

If you truly love coffee and drink several cups a day, you should invest in a nicer coffee maker—even a cheap Mr. Coffee is good. But Keurigs have their place since they're fast and convenient. This one is small, so you can fit it in apartment kitchens or even at your desk. Designer Jonathan Adler came up with the look, which is quite nice.

Keurig K-Elite with Iced Coffee Setting for $130 ($40 off)

If you have more space to store it and like iced coffee occasionally, this K-Elite model is a solid alternative. It also has a hot water button in case you want to make tea or oatmeal.

a close up of a pot: Instant Pot Duo Plus © Wired Instant Pot Duo Plus

Instant Pot Duo Plus 6-Quart 9-in-1 Pressure Cooker for $55 ($65 off)

The popular Instant Pot is a Prime Day staple. It takes a bunch of appliances and puts them into one. There are a few different sizes and versions, but this 6-quart is good for about six people. If you have a larger family, the 8-quart pot is also on sale for $90 ($50 off).

Oster DiamondForce XL 5-Quart Air Fryer for $60 ($40 off)

Air fryers are another fan favorite, and a few are discounted from Target this year. We haven't tried this particular model, but Oster has a pretty good reputation for kitchen gadgets. The company's nine-function Countertop Air Fryer is also discounted to $100 ($60 off). As an alternative, the PowerXL Air Fryer costs $60 ($40 off) and appears to be a decent deal as well. We have not tested it.

Thermos 24-Ounce Stainless King Food Jar 25 for $19 ($6 off)

You might be heading back into an office or planning camping or road trips. Either way, having a Thermos to keep meals warm (or cold!) will come in handy. This one is also dishwasher safe.

Dyson Pure Cool Link Air Purifier and Fan for $250 ($150 off)

Dyson has a few different versions of its fancy purifier-fan-combo, ranging from $400 to $650—we've tried and liked the larger one. This one is the only model currently discounted, and its small size makes it ideal for use in a home office or bedroom. This deal appears to be regionally dependent; our West Coast colleagues can see it, where East Coasters may not.

Dyson V8 Motorhead Cordless Stick Vacuum for $250 ($130 off)

Dyson makes great vacuums, and the V8 is its “budget” model. It converts into a hand vacuum and has a run time of around 40 minutes, so be sure to charge it between cleaning sessions. As with the Dyson above, this deal appears to be regionally dependent; our West Coast colleagues can see it, where East Coasters may not.

KitchenAid Professional 5-Quart Lifting Stand Mixer for $300 ($120 off)

A KitchenAid stand mixer is a worthwhile purchase if you love to cook and bake. They're made to last and look sleek in a kitchen, especially in the red or blue colors that give them a vintage vibe.

Tech Deals

See our Best Streaming Devices, Best Fitness Watches, and Best Wireless Earbuds guides for more of our favorites.

Apple AirPods Pro for $190 ($60 off)

We're big fans of the AirPods Pro. They sound great and fit more comfortably in your ears than the first Airpods. We see these discounted a lot, but they've been around $197 for the last few months, so this is a small drop from their normal discounted price.

Sony WH-1000XM4 for $250 ($100 off)

These Sony headphones are our favorite wireless headphones for good reason: They get 30 hours of battery life with noise canceling on, they sound great, and they're among the most comfortable headphones you can buy. This fourth-generation model improves on those that came before with new beam-forming microphones, which makes you sound great on Zoom calls.

JLab Go Air for $25 ($5 off)—Discount in Cart

These cheap little wireless earbuds won't sound quite as good as AirPods, but they have the same battery life and a more ergonomic fit. WIRED audio reviewer Parker Hall likes taking them out and about when he's doing yard work, long hikes, or other outdoor activities, because you don't have to worry too much about losing a bud.

Roku Streaming Stick Plus for $40 ($10 off)

Roku is our favorite streaming platform, and the Streaming Stick Plus is our choice for most people. This deal pops up frequently, and we're only including it because we like the device.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 © Photograph: Microsoft Microsoft Surface Pro 7

Surface Pro 7 for $830 ($240 off)

The Surface Pro 7 is a great 2-in-1 laptop replacement. It has enough power for most laptop-type tasks but can double as a tablet. The model here has the faster Intel Core i5 chip. This deal also includes the keyboard. Target has quite a few other Surface deals worth browsing.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5 for $735 ($165 off)

This IdeaPad 5 features a speedy AMD Ryzen 7 chip, 16 gigabytes of RAM, and a 512-gigabyte SSD. The 15-inch, 1,080p screen won't be the sharpest, but otherwise, these are some of the best specs you'll get at this price.

Facebook Portal 10-Inch Screen for $99 ($80 off)

WIRED senior associate reviews editor Adrienne So had mixed feelings when she reviewed it, but she was much more enthusiastic about using the Facebook Portal smart display for Zoom during the pandemic. It looked as if she had a personal cinematographer filming her as the Portal would automatically zoom in on her face and pan as she moved around within the frame. If you have trouble capturing rambunctious kiddos in one shot, it works a treat on Facebook Messenger, too.

Fitbit Charge 4 for $100 ($30 off)

This is our favorite fitness watch right now, and this is the lowest price for it we've seen recently. Fitbit's app is easy to use, and its products remain affordable yet capable. You can get the same price at Amazon.

LG 75-Inch 4K TV for $900 ($100 off)

If you have a big living room or a tough time catching everything that's happening on screen, this giant LG model is a pretty good-looking option for 10 percent off. We typically recommend smaller sizes, but if you need big, this is big.

a close up of electronics: Beats Studio3 Headphones © Photograph: Target Beats Studio3 Headphones

Beats Studio3 for $200 ($150 off)

These noise-canceling over-ears are actually much better than the early-generation Beats you might have tried back in the day. Now that Apple owns the brand, build quality has gone through the roof, and these things even sound pretty darn good. Bassy, plastic messes they aren't.

Logitech C920S Pro HD Webcam for $50 ($20 off)

Webcams were in short supply in 2020, but they're rebounding, and prices are normalizing. This is a great price from a reliable brand. You get 1080p video quality, as well as a privacy shutter to hide the camera when it's not in use.  Reviewer Matt Jancer liked the similar Logitech C920 Pro in his Guide to the Best Webcams.

Hair and Personal Care Deals

We all need a little self-care—the last year and a half proved that. For more of our favorite beauty and care gadgets, check out our favorite hair straighteners and fave hair dryers. We also have guides to the Best Theragun and Massage Guns and Best Electric Toothbrushes.

a close up of a tool: Hot Tools One Step © Photograph: Hot Tools Hot Tools One Step

Hot Tools One Step for $40 ($30 off)

We recently tested this blow-dry brush and found it to be pretty effective, especially for the price. The brush head comes off for easy storing and traveling, and it can also be swapped in for different ones.

Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Acne Patches for $6 ($2 off)—Discount in Cart

These only ship with orders over $35, but if you've already got a cart full of goodies, I highly suggest adding these. Now that we're starting to remove our masks in more situations, you might be dealing with leftover mascne. Of all the pimple patches I (Medea) have tried, these ones work the best and I always have a pack around just in case something pops up.

Quip Plastic Smart Brush for $40 ($5 off)

The Quip is a capable, affordable electric toothbrush. The app gives you brushing feedback, like duration, intensity, and coverage, though it doesn't show real-time tracking. The plastic version is fine, but the sleeker metal brush is $50 ($11 off) right now.

a close up of a knife: Oral-B Pro 1000 Electric Toothbrush © Photograph: Amazon Oral-B Pro 1000 Electric Toothbrush

Oral-B Pro 1000 Electric Toothbrush for $40 ($10 off)

Oral-B brushes have round, oscillating heads that really get in between your teeth. The Pro 1000 is a bit chunky, especially compared to the Quip above, and easily gets grimy from toothpaste residue, but it's a steal if you want a powerful brush without any smart features.

Hyperice Hypervolt Massage Gun for $319 ($81 off)

This massage gun is as pricey as the Theraguns it competes with, but it still works quite well for relieving tight-muscle pain. It comes with five different attachments for targeting different areas, and it connects to an app via Bluetooth to walk you through recovery options. There are more affordable options out there, but this is the best price we've tracked for the Hypervolt.

Cerave Healing Ointment for $8 ($3 off)—Discount in Cart

This is my holy grail product. I have desert dry skin that flakes, burns, and breaks out in eczema rashes over nothing. This ointment gets it back on track quickly, and even helps to heal scabbing pimples that I couldn't leave alone. It's thick like Vaseline, and packed with helpful ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid. A little goes a very long way, so this 3-ounce bottle will last you many months, but if you know you love it, the 12-ounce jar is on sale for $17 ($5 off) once you add it to you cart.

Pet Deals

Our pets are family, and they deserve some toys too. Thankfully, Target has some seriously cute products just for them on sale this weekend. Make sure to read our guides on cat accessories and dog accessories, and our tips for recently adopted pets.

text: Embark Dog DNA Test © Photograph: Embark Embark Dog DNA Test

Embark Breed & Health Dog DNA Test $135 ($65 off)

WIRED tested a handful of dog DNA tests and found Embark to offer a ton of helpful information—it even found some staffer pup's relatives! This is the lowest price we've ever seen.

Two-Story Cat Scratch House for $16 ($4 off)—Discount in Cart

Target's cat scratcher houses are nearly too cute to handle. This one is perfect for surfer cats who just like to chill, but there are ones for every holiday including Pride and Halloween. You just can't go wrong here.

High-Walled Cuddler Bed for $16 ($4 off)—Discount in Cart

Of all the pet supplies at Target, I gravitate toward the ones made by Boots & Barkley the most. They look nice, and the products I've tried have lasted a while. This plushy bed will fit cats and small dogs.

a cup of coffee: Catit Flower Fountain © Photograph: Catit Catit Flower Fountain

Catit Flower Fountain Kit for $28 ($7 off)—Discount in Cart

We love Catit products, and this fountain can be used for cats or dogs. There are three water-flow settings, including one without the flower, which may appeal to dogs more. This deal also includes a placemat to catch spilled water and a stainless-steel dish for food.

Petkit Smart Pet Fountain for $49 ($9 off)—Discount in Cart

We haven't tried this particular brand, but it comes recommended, and we think this design might appeal to dogs than the Catit flower fountain above. Plus, this one has a spot for backup batteries to kick on if the power goes out.

Game Deals

I prefer a good old-fashioned board game to video games when I'm bored, but they can get really pricey. Thankfully, some of them are discounted right now. See our guide to family board games for more.

calendar: Settlers of Catan © Photograph: Catan Studio Settlers of Catan

Settlers of Catan for $33 ($11 off)

Catan is popular among strategy game fans, but it can reach nearly $60. We've seen it recently around $44, so this further drop is appreciated.

Clue for $7 ($3 off)

Who can forget what Colonel Mustard did in the conservatory with the candlestick? Join all your favorite murderous fictional characters for a romp through the Hill House mansion. There's also a Master Detective version of the game for $17 ($5 off)

Monopoly for $15 ($5 off)—Discount in Cart

I can't say I'm a fan of this seemingly never-ending game, but it's a classic for a reason. There have been minor upgrades over the years, but it's stayed pretty true to the original.

Guess Who for $7 ($3 off)—Discount in Cart

This game might be aimed at kids, but you can't deny it's fun to play with a group of adults every once in a while, especially if you agree to ask more alternative questions. Or as one Redditor suggested, replace the cartoons with pictures of your friends and, respectfully of course, roast each other. This only ships if your cart is $35 or more.

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla for $23 ($37 off)

Although (our own) reviews of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla are decidedly mixed, I (Adrienne) loved it. Eivor Wolf-Kissed is an attractive, upright hero and the landscapes are gorgeous.
