Infamous League of Legends streamer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp has completed another one of his challenges by hitting Challenger rank while playing from the mid lane.

Tyler1 has previously done challenges on stream where he tries to reach Challenger by maining a different role every time. He previously did it with jungle and top lane after long having held Challenger rank in the bottom lane, and now he has also proven that he can reach the top of the solo queue ladder by mainly playing mid.

The 26-year-old streamer is firstly known as a bot lane player, going all the way back to when he was strictly considered a Draven one-trick. Since then, Tyler1 has expanded his champion pool by a lot through these different challenges. While some of them have been harder than others, his mid lane challenge required no more than 669 games.

Tyler1 reached challenger by playing Annie and Irelia

During the 669 games, Tyler1 has played a great variety of champions. But the one that he has found the most success on is Annie, with a total of 156 games played and a 64% win rate.

Annie is the champion that saw Tyler1 climb the ladders at a fairly quick speed, with her simple kit and ability to carry solo queue games when getting ahead. Annie has often been considered a go-to champion for newer players in the mid lane and Tyler1 quickly realized that.

Tyler1 has also played some higher-risk champions such as Fizz, Irelia, and Akshan with great success. The highest win rate is with Irelia, where he has won a whopping 73% of the 67 games played on her. Tyler1 has also tried his luck with Karthus and has done well over the course of 37 games played.

One of the champions Tyler1 has struggled with in his journey to Challenger in mid, was with LeBlanc. The mage assassin has been picked up 47 times by the streamer and currently sits on a 43% win rate, according to his op.gg page

Tyler1 still needs to complete his journey to Challenger by playing support, but it seems that this last challenge won’t be picked up until next year. Until then, Tyler1 might be sticking around in the mid lane or going back to a bit more casual play.
